BROWSER-NATIVE GERBER INSPECTION
Drop a Gerber ZIP. Inspect every layer, catch missing files, and get an indicative PCB or PCBA price in seconds — without sending your design anywhere.
Demo board · 2-layer · 7 files · rendered locally
01 / BOARD VIEWER
Top, bottom, every layer. All rendered in your browser.
or
Gerber + Excellon drill · ZIP or individual files · max 25 MB
The viewer guesses layer type and side from filenames. If a file is unmapped,
set it here. Drill files use side all; outline uses side all.

03 / HOW IT WORKS
Built for engineers who want an answer, not a sales call.
Gerber + Excellon drill, zipped or individual. KiCad, Altium, Eagle, OrCAD and gEDA exports are all recognized.
Top, bottom and perspective views. Toggle copper, mask, silk, paste, outline and drill. Board size and drill count are extracted automatically.
Set quantity, stackup, finish and lead time. Get a transparent breakdown, then send the summary to an engineer for a real RFQ.
04 / OPEN SOURCE
The rendering core is open source. The quote logic is ours.
Turns Gerber + drill files into precise top and bottom SVG renders. The same engine used by the tracespace project.
Individual Gerber and Excellon layer rendering. Used for layer inspection and export.
Identifies layer type and side from filenames across KiCad, Altium, Eagle, OrCAD, gEDA and DipTrace exports.
Fast, dependency-free ZIP handling in the browser. Your Gerber ZIP is unpacked locally — never uploaded.
We tested the stable tracespace v4 stack against the newer v5 alpha. v4 is the one with a
browser bundle, predictable SVG output and years of production use. Server-side DFM
(pygerber / gerbonara / KiCad CLI) is on the roadmap — see docs/open-source-stack.md.
05 / FAQ
For a PCB quote: Gerber files for copper, soldermask, silkscreen, outline, plus an Excellon drill file. Export as a ZIP from your CAD tool. For PCBA, also upload a BOM CSV with designators, quantity and MPN.
Yes. The Gerber ZIP is unpacked and rendered in your browser using JavaScript. It is never uploaded to our server. When you send an RFQ, only the quote summary, file names and your contact details are transmitted.
It is an indicative estimate built from a configurable rate card. It covers fabrication, setup, testing and expedite multipliers. The final price depends on DFM review, material availability, panelization and shipping. Always confirm with an engineer.
Yes. Switch to PCBA mode and upload a BOM CSV. The tool estimates stencil/NRE, per-placement assembly, test and optional coating or box build. Component cost is quoted separately after sourcing.
The viewer handles standard Gerber layers. Advanced stackups (HDI, rigid-flex, metal core, impedance-controlled) need an engineering review. Send the stackup notes through the RFQ form and we will route it to the right process engineer.
It is the whole-board view: top, bottom, perspective, every layer and the extracted board statistics — the context you need before asking for a price.
